Reformation of the Self

    Abdullah ibn Amr reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, " Verily, those who were just will be in the presence of Allah upon pulpits of light, near the right hand of the Merciful, the Exalted, and both of His sides are honorable. They are those who practiced justice in their judgments, with their families, and in all that they did. ”   Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim      

    Al-Nawawi records in his book Riyad us-Saliheen:   Allah the Exalted said: وَمَا آتَاكُمُ الرَّسُولُ فَخُذُوهُ وَمَا نَهَاكُمْ عَنْهُ فَانتَهُوا وَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ شَدِيدُ الْعِقَابِ   “Whatever the Messenger gives you, take it. Whatever he forbids you, refrain from it. Fear Allah, for Allah is severe in punishment.”   Surah Al-Hashr 59:7   And Allah said:   وَمَا يَنطِقُ عَنِ الْهَوَىٰ إِنْ هُوَ إِلَّا وَحْيٌ يُوحَىٰ   “He does not speak from his desires. It is not but a revelation revealed.”   Surah An-Najm 53:3-4   And Allah said:   قُلْ إِن كُنتُمْ تُحِبُّونَ اللَّهَ فَاتَّبِعُونِي يُحْبِبْكُمُ اللَّهُ وَيَغْفِرْ لَكُمْ ذُنُوبَكُمْ وَاللَّهُ غَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ   “Say: If you love Allah, then follow me. Allah will love you and forgive your sins. Allah is forgiving and merciful.”   Surah Ali Imran 3:31  

  Jabir reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “No days are better to Allah than the first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah.” A man said, “O Messenger of Allah, are they better or time spent waging jihad in the way of Allah?” The Prophet said, “They are better than time spent waging jihad in the way of Allah. No day is better to Allah than the day of Arafat. Allah descends to the lowest heaven and He boasts to the inhabitants of the heavens about the inhabitants of the earth, saying: Look at My servants, appearing disheveled and dusty. They came from every mountain pass hoping for My mercy. They do not see My punishment, yet they do not see that on no day are more (people) saved from Hellfire than the day of Arafat.”   Source: Ṣaḥīḥ Ibn Ḥibbān 3853    

    Al-Nu’man ibn Bashir (RA) reported: I asked Umar (RA), may Allah be pleased with him, about His saying, “Repent to Allah with sincere repentance,” (66:8). Umar (RA) said, “It is a servant who repents from a sin and never commits it again.”   May Allah SWT grant us the Grace to be truly repentant. Aameen

    The Prophet (SAW) is reported to have said:   “A menstruating woman or a seminally defiled person should not recite any part of the Qur’ān”.   (Tirmidhī and Bayhaqī)
