Special Gift to Conscious Muslims

Today, we want to learn just few verses from the Holy Quran that can mean more than the whole world to us in terms of their value in blessings and protection. To get straight to it, let’s read what the companion of the Prophet (SAW) says about this:   Sayyiduna ‘Abdullah ibn Mas’ud (Allah be pleased with him) said: ‘Whoever recites the following ten verses of Surah Baqarah in the morning, (1) will be saved from Shaytan till the evening, and whoever recites it in the evening will be protected from Shaytan till the morning .   And those ten verses are:   1-4: The first four verses. (according to some ‘Ulama this ends at the word: ‘Muflihun')   5-7: Ayatul Kursi and the two verses that follow it.   8-10: The last three verses.   That’s all. Short but powerful to save us from many of the evils of this world if we are serious enough to recite them religiously. May Allah (SWT) protect us from neglect and heedles...

Speak Only Good or Be Silent

In this article, I want to encourage you to typically choose silence over speech. Yes, I am advising you and myself to keep our mouths shut all the time except for a few meaningful exceptions. And the reason for this will be clear to you at the end of today’s article. The proof this advice is documented in authentic hadith of the Prophet (SAW), Sunnan at-Tirmidhi, and it goes thus: Umm Habibah reported: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Every word of the son of Adam is against him, not for him, except for enjoining good, forbidding evil, or remembrance of Allah.” Did you get that? The only times we are really profiting from our speeches are those mentioned in the above narration. All other times, we are making no profits at all and we may even be accumulating great losses. This calls for self-reflection to ensure that we are earning rewards with our tongues and not committing further sins. That is why I think silence is golden. It is certainly...

The Luckiest Muslim

In the following authentic hadith from Sahih Bukhari, we shall realize the great importance of understanding and sincerely professing the testimony of faith in Islam. Kalimatuh Shaadah is one of the only things that will entitle any true believer the intercession of our dear Prophet (SAW) on the Day of the Greatest Fear. Now let’s get to the proof of this, right away. Narrated Abu Huraira (RA): I said: “O Allah’s Messenger (peace be upon him)! Who will be the luckiest person, who will gain your intercession on the Day of Resurrection?” Allah’s Messenger (peace be upon him) said: O Abu Huraira! “I have thought that none will ask me about it before you as I know your longing for the (learning of) Hadiths. The luckiest person who will have my intercession on the Day of Resurrection will be the one who said sincerely from the bottom of his heart: “None has the right to be worshipped but Allah.” May Allah (SWT) count me and you among the luckiest on a Day that is 50, 00...

Seeking Good and Refuge from Allah (SWT), Alone

The point of today’s article is on supplicating to Allah (SWT) and seeking refuge in Him in all our affairs. Doing this even on the most ordinary affairs of our lives, is a form of worship. And the following hadith is a proof as the Prophet (SAW) would praise Allah (SWT) and supplicate to Him whenever he (SAW) gets to wear a new garment. Abu Sa’id al-Khudri reported: When the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, wore a new garment he would name it, such as a turban, a shirt, or a cloak, and then he would say: “O Allah, praise be to you that you have dressed me with it. I ask you for its goodness and the goodness for which it was made. I seek refuge in you from its evil and the evil for which it was made.” The hadith is an authentic one from Imam At-Tirmidhi.   And it tells us to place our reliance on Allah in all our affairs including the smallest details of our lives. May Allah (SWT) benefit us from what we learn. Aameen.   ...
