Survival of Your Religion Lies in Patience

“If Allah (SWT) loves a man, He inflicts him with some calamities, to hear him beseech Him.” {Al-Bayhaqi} One day, a scholar of an Islamic country was accompanied by one of his faithful companions and they both passed by a garden. The scholar lectures him on the importance of fortitude and patience. And the scholar told him that if he is indeed a true believer, difficult days await him.  What should I do when the time comes? asked the companion. “Patience and fortitude . If you fail to exhibit patience you shall fall into far greater difficulties. ” The companion enquired, “Do you fear the destruction of my faith and religion?” The scholar replied: “Your faith and religion’s existence lies in patience and fortitude.” Allahu Akbar! May Allah (SWT) grant us patience and fortitude. Aameen

An Example of Small Effort Embedded with Great sources of Good

“Allah {SWT} has concluded Suratul-Baqara with two ayas, which He gave me from under His throne’s treasure. Therefore, learn them and teach them to your women and children. They are a prayer, a Quran and du’aa.”—{Al-Haakim} May Allah {SWT} save us from negligence on this great advice of the Prophet {SAW}. Aameen

The Supremacy of Knowledge

“The cure of Contemplation is Seeking Advice.”—Abu Daud A man came to a scholar to ask that if there is funeral ready for burial and a lecture is being delivered on teaching a useful skill simultaneously, and I can attend only one, which of the two has a greater right on my attendance? “If there are people to bury the dead, you must attend the lecture that increases your knowledge, because the reward of one such lecture is infinitely better than attending a number of funerals.  There is a world of difference between one session spent in a scholar’s company and many non-obligatory acts of worship.” Do you not know that only knowledge leads you to worship God, and only knowledge teaches how to worship God? The good of this world and the next is aligned with knowledge, just   as the evil in this world and the next is aligned with ignorance.” May Allah (SWT) save us from ignorance. Lesson on the Supreme Importance of Fundamentals in Islam

A man from Najd with unkempt hair came to Allah’s apostle (SAW) and we heard his loud voice but could not understand what he was saying, till he came near and then we came to know that he was asking about Islam. Allah’s apostle (SAW) said, “You have to offer prayers five times a day and night.” The man asked, “Is there any more prayers?” Allah’s apostle replied, “No, but if you want to offer Nawafil prayers (you can).” Allah’s apostle further said to him: “You have to observe fasts during the month of Ramadan.” The man asked, “Is there any more fasting?”   Allah’s apostle replied, “No, but if you want to offer Nawafil fasts (you can).” Allah’s apostle further said to him, “You have to pay Zakat (obligatory charity).”  The man asked, “Is there anything other than the Zakat for me to pay?” Allah’s apostle replied, “No, unless you want to give alms of your own.” And then the man retreated saying, “By Allah! I will neither do less nor more than...

Knowledge of the Forms of Revelation given to the Prophet (SAW)

Al-Harith bin Hisham asked Allah’s apostle (SAW) “O Allah’s apostle (SAW)! How is divine revelation revealed to you? Allah’s Apostle (SAW) replied,  “Sometimes, it is revealed like the ringing of a bell, this form of inspiration is the hardest of all and then this state passes after which I grasped what is inspired.  Sometimes the Angel comes in the form of a man and talks to me and I grasp whatever he says.” Aisha added: Verily, I saw the Prophet (SAW) being inspired Divinely on a very cold day and noticed the sweat dropping from his forehead (as the Inspiration was over)."
