There is Unlimited Power in Glorifying God Habitually

“Therefore celebrate the praises of your Lord, and be of those who make obeisance.”—Surah Al-Hijr Q15:98

One day Ali {R} noticed that grinding, cooking, carrying water bags from the well, washing and cleaning, besides feeding, bathing and babysitting the children had left Fatimah {R} with sore hands, a scarred back and worn-out clothes. Despite his help, she was busy all the time.

Sorrowful on her condition, he advised her to request her father {S} for a serving woman. Fatimah {R} agreed, so she went to see her father {S}, but found him busy conversing with some people. She returned home without voicing her request.

However, the Holy Prophet {S} noticed her coming and going and understood that she had come for something important. Next morning, he went to visit her to find out the reason for her visit the day before.

The Holy Prophet {S} sat at the head side of his daughter’s bed and asked, “You came to see me yesterday, Fatimah, and then returned. What did you come for?”

And Ali {R} narrated her the full details of her toil to the Prophet {S} and hence, the obvious need for a maid.

The Holy Prophet {S} did not want any member of his family to enjoy facilities that were not available to the poor Muslims, especially the immigrants, who were in a state of extreme poverty in those days. And he knew the spiritual level of his daughter’s faith, so he said:

“May I inform you of something better than that? She gladly said, yes!

And the Prophet {S} continued:

“When you go to bed, recite…

 Subhan-Allah {Glory be to Allah} 33 times,…

 Alhamdulillah {Praise be to Allah} 33 times …

and Allahu Akbar {Allah is Most Great} 34 times.

That will be better for you than a servant.”—Sahih Bukhari

Fatimah {R} excitedly said, “My pleasure lies in what pleases Allah {SWT} and His Messenger {S}.”

The Most Important Lesson Here is Below:

Ali {R} added, I have never failed to recite it ever since.”

Somebody asked, “Even on the night of the battle of Siffin {A ferocious war}?

He said, “No { I have never failed to recite it ever since }, even on the night of the battle of Siffin.”

May AllahSWT grant us steadfastness on His remembrance. Aameen
