All Power Belongs to Allah (SWT) Alone
In all affairs, especially the ones that relate to benefits and harm, whether to humankind or animal kingdom, we Muslims firmly believe that all power belongs to Allah, SWT, alone.
However, sometimes, we Muslims are affected by the
naturalist orientation of the West, and as such inadvertently say things that could
be detrimental to our belief system.
In fact, I read a committed man of da’wah praised the
attendees of an Islamic programme who managed to show up in spite of heavy
rain.
He wrote something like, ‘Nature dazzled us with rains today…’
He didn’t think twice about it. May Allah (SWT) forgive him
and myself for all the sinful words that we have said or written, both
knowingly and unknowingly. Aameen.
To know the truth of this matter, let’s study the following
hadith of our beloved Prophet (SAW) deeply.
“It is
narrated on the authority of Zaid b. Khalid al-Juhani: The Messenger of Allah (May
peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) led the morning prayer at Hudaybiya.
There
were some marks of the rainfall during the night. At the conclusion of prayer he turned towards
people and observed:
Do you
know what your Lord has said? They replied: Allah and His Messenger know best.
Upon
this he (SAW) remarked:
He
(Allah, SWT) said: Some of My bondsmen entered the
morning as My believers and some as unbelievers.
He who
said: We have had a rainfall due to the Blessing
and Mercy of Allah, he is My believer and a disbeliever of stars.
And (he)
who said: We have had a rainfall due to the rising
of such and such (star) disbelieved Me and affirmed his faith in the stars.”_Sahih
Muslim
Even though some people may want to argue and twist the
meaning of this hadith, yet that will never change the truth in the sight of
Allah, SWT.
Therefore, I think it is better to align our thoughts, our
actions and our words with those of the Prophet’s and his companions’ and stay
away from any line of thoughts, words and actions that are apart from their way.
Allah (SWT) knows best.
May Allah (SWT) save us from error and misguidance. Aameen
