Acts of Righteousness


In Islam, Tawheed is the first and foremost requirement of divine submission.

However, after a believer has declared the testimony of faith, he or she needs to practically demonstrate his or her belief with certain acts of righteousness according to the Book of Allah (SWT) and Sunnah of His Prophet (SAW).

Some of those acts are enumerated below in an authentic hadith related in Sahih Muslim as follows: Abu Malik al-Ash’ari (RA) reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him (SAW), said:

 “Purity is half of faith, and the praise of Allah fills the scale.

Glorification and praise fill up what is between the heavens and the earth.

Prayer is a light, charity is proof, and patience is illumination.

The Quran is a proof for you or against you.

All people go out early in the morning and sell themselves, either setting themselves free or ruining themselves.”

From the above narration, we can see a short list of good deeds we can improve upon to advance our journey on the path of truth and righteousness.

May Allah (SWT) guide us aright, and may He save us from all self-destructive behaviours, every day of our lives. Aameen.

Tie Your Camel and Put Your Trust in Allah (SWT)

    In an authentic hadith from Sunan al-Tirmidhi ̄, a man asked the Prophet an important question that clarifies how to rely on Allah (SWT) as the Almighty Lord Who has Power over all things. The Day of Judgement Is the Day of Justice

    Jabir ibn Abdullah reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: “Allah will gather the servants naked, uncircumcised, and destitute.”   We said, “What is destitute?” The Prophet said, “They will have nothing with them. A heavenly caller will announce with a voice from afar: I am the King. It is not befitting for anyone from the people of Paradise to enter Paradise while anyone from the people of Hellfire is seeking redress for injustice. It is not befitting for anyone from the people of Hellfire to enter Hellfire while anyone from the people of Paradise is seeking redress from injustice.” I said, “How is it so?
