Humility and Success

If anyone finds it challenging to stay humble as a result of his or her success, I present the following hadith to enlighten such a person.

In the narration, we can see the most successful person to ever walk on the face of the earth demonstrated to us the futility of arrogance in any creation—no matter the rank or position.

In the Sahih of Ibn Mājah, the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said:

“I am the master of the children of Adam, and it is no boast.

I will be the first for whom the earth is split on the Day of Resurrection, and it is no boast.

I will be the first to intercede and whose intercession will be accepted, and it is no boast.

The banner of praise will be placed in my hand, and it is no boast.”

Look at the brilliant example from our dear prophet (SAW). He is the most honoured of all humans.

The only person who has the right to be proud, yet he makes it clear through his words and action that humility, not arrogance is always the behavior of the righteous.

Allahu Akbar!

Take a lesson from that noble example and keep yourself humble, no matter how successful you may be.

May Allah SWT grant us the grace of true humility throughout our lives. Aameen
