Seeking Good and Refuge from Allah (SWT), Alone

The point of today’s article is on supplicating to Allah (SWT) and seeking refuge in Him in all our affairs.

Doing this even on the most ordinary affairs of our lives, is a form of worship.

And the following hadith is a proof as the Prophet (SAW) would praise Allah (SWT) and supplicate to Him whenever he (SAW) gets to wear a new garment.

Abu Sa’id al-Khudri reported: When the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, wore a new garment he would name it, such as a turban, a shirt, or a cloak, and then he would say:

“O Allah, praise be to you that you have dressed me with it. I ask you for its goodness and the goodness for which it was made. I seek refuge in you from its evil and the evil for which it was made.”

The hadith is an authentic one from Imam At-Tirmidhi.

And it tells us to place our reliance on Allah in all our affairs including the smallest details of our lives.

May Allah (SWT) benefit us from what we learn. Aameen.
